Thanks Lyn for posting something so honest and deep. I am really glad that you brought up all these questions. They are certainly valid and there's nothing wrong with all your doubts. We are all here together to clarify our doubts. God is so big and deep. He's bigger than this universe! Do you think we can fully understand God in 1 day? I don't think so. It is always a journey. The important thing is that the seeker must not give up. And God will reward those who seek him as it is said in James "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
You are also very right that we can NEVER follow the law closely. It is impossible! In fact, the bible already stated that: "for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
So how? Go figure. We'll discuss more on Sunday ok? We have the usual class time! Yay!

What i think....
Actually, in response to lynette's post, i think that if you believe that god exists, then nothing can prove him wrong...after all, if he created the universe, i dont think he has to obey the laws of science...so actually we have doubts because we think too much...we live in an age of science and technology, so faith, is not that important to society any longer and when people read the bible, they would always think in modern context....even if miracles happen, people would think it was a trick or a lie...and with science proving so many things wrong...people dont put faith into things that they cannot see or touch... however there are still many things that science cannot explain, so eventually, i feel that people should not think of the modern world so much when reading the bible, cos the modern part of our thinking will try to explain god and his miracles, which just cant be explained...but people who believe that god can do anything, need not explain about anything, cos thats wat faith is....believing in something no mater what...and also i think god knows that we cannot hep but sin but i feel that he put those laws down so we could follow them the best we can. It matters not whether you fall, it matters whether you get up. We cant follow those laws without fail but at least we can still try our best to go by it.
Yes, i know im supposed to be studying my geog now......im....erm...."studying english" and NOT SLACKING OFF....=D

Wondering
Hey! no one has posted since last sunday. Anyway, I was reading my bible and then a few questions popped out in my head so i thought ill just share it . In the book of matthew, they have a whole list of things we are not suppose to do but its like we are commiting the sins every single day and its human nature. For example in matthew 5:22, buti tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother is subject to judgement. dont we get angry at people every single day, how do we stop ourselves from being angry, its not possible. or do not judge others or you too will be judged... the first thing we do when we see a person is to judge them based on their appearance and behaviour, i cant relate to how we can actually follow the laws. How come in the eariler generations when the bible had not been written, god actually sent his son jesus to come and heal and spread the gospel to the people but now there is no actual real life form of jesus coming onto this earth. The stuff and stories in the bible seem unbleivable, really, is it actually possible for a man to walk on water, it is going against the rules of science.
Sometimes we are told to read the bible when we face problems. But where should we look? Just choose a random page? and if the page is full of parables and story, how do we actually find the solution to our problems through it...how do we apply it in real life and how do we make sense of it all? I am getting so confusedd. I really want to get to know god more and grow closer to him but how can i when i have so many doubts and question marks about the things he had done in the past. is it really true or is it just a long story someone made up ?
